RV Furnace

Overview

Your furnace is a great attractor of pet hair, dirt, and other debris. If you are lucky enough to have access to your furnace, blow out all the debris that you can get to, especially on the main board to prevent shorting out components.

Start Up

1. Open the access door and blow out all the dust and lint that you can get to

especially on the main furnace board

2. Open the access to the back of the furnace and clean all lint and debris

Maintain

  1. Mark on your maintenance schedule dates to clean the furnace lint and debris, every three

months.

               Trouble Shooting

  1. There are 3 main things to check when your furnace fails to operate

1 The sail switch

2 The high limit switch

3 The furnace main ignitor board

4 Okay, and the propane system (is there propane in the supply tank, is the propane sensor

turned on, and is there a switch to turn on the propane system)

  • Consult your owner’s manual or take the RV to a qualified RV shop
  • What has given me trouble before is the Propane Regulator on the main tank, it gets full of

the oil that is often found in Propane. I replaced it and the system worked again.

                Costs

  1. Main ignitor board $120
  2. Sail switch $14
  3. High Limit switch $17
  4. New furnace $550 to $900
