| Plumbing Overview The plumbing system in today’s RVs are plumbed using PEX water pipe connectors. PEX can be easy or difficult to work with according to the amount of room you are given in the location that you need to do the repair. PEX requires having a PEX crimping clamp tool, a selection of clamps, PEX plastic pipe, and connectors (either crimp on or Quick connect, fittings rather than crimping clamps. Cost PEX crimping clamp tool with clamps $30 |
| Awnings Overview The awnings on an RV take a beating from the elements, especially the wind when you are travelling. Make sure that you use the fasteners on the awning arms and that they are locked in place. When you deploy the awning, it is best not to leave them out when you leave the campsite or at night. It is often recommended not to use stabilizer straps; I use them in the summer with awning clamps to keep the awning from billowing too much but store the awning when there are too many wind gusts. Maintenance Wash the awning every six months with an awning cleaner When possible, let the awning dry before storing it If it was wet when you stored it, deploy it in the sun and let it dry If the RV is stored, unfurl the awning, and inspect the awning for any issues. |
